Kids follow a round without adding it up. On tournament day, the course already has every team's score.

Where we started
Pete's Grand Putt is a mini golf course in Grand Marais. Younger kids play there, and adding a score hole by hole was the part they got stuck on. Tournament day was slower for a different reason. Teams finished, then waited while the organizer turned a pile of handwritten cards into one list and named a winner.
What we did
- An iOS app for the course, on the App Store since June 2024
- Easy score entry so kids can enter what they got on each hole and move on
- A group scorecard that adds the total from those holes
- A tournament view of each team's total, updated when a scorecard is submitted
We came back the following summer and extended the tournament side, after the Grand Invitational had been run once.
Where it stands
This app was made so younger kids could add up their scores easily. At the Grand Invitational, the organizer has a live view of each team's total and can pick a winner without doing the math by hand after all the teams finish.
